We see little value in memorisation and encourage learning through exploration and problem solving. We find that this leads to a deeper understanding of grappling and more adaptable and resilient athletes. Ultimately, we believe that learning should be a fun and creative process with supportive training partners. This is what we strive to achieve.
Most people come to the mat wanting to learn techniques. But when you start there, you skip everything that actually makes those things work. What I care about is building grapplers who can think, adapt, and solve problems in real time.
That starts with control. Before you submit someone, you need to control them. Before you control them, you need to understand position. When you learn it in that order, everything becomes one connected idea, not a list of things to memorise.
Training should also be safe, fun, and sustainable. Good atmosphere, good training partners, honest exploration. That's the environment where real understanding grows.
We learn by doing, not by watching. Every class is built around exploration and problem solving, not memorisation.
Instead of drilling techniques in isolation, we work through concepts, understand why they work, and test them in live situations. Classes typically include positional sparring, where we isolate specific scenarios and repeat them until the decisions become instinctive.
The focus is always on progression. Each concept builds on the last, so nothing feels random. Students develop a real understanding of position and control before moving on to more complex ideas.
Training partners are a huge part of the method. We work together, not against each other. The mat is a place to explore, make mistakes, and figure things out in a safe and supportive environment.
We build grapplers who understand, adapt, and solve problems — not ones who just memorise moves.
Controlled intensity, mutual respect on the mat, and partners who care about your progress as much as their own.
Good atmosphere, honest exploration, and a space where everyone — beginner or not — is genuinely welcome.
Clean, well-ventilated, and comfortable. We keep the space fresh and welcoming so you can focus on what matters — training well and enjoying the process.
